If done well, live action trailers can be a powerful thing. And this trailer was done very, very well. I almost felt sad for this guy the entire time. His struggle with the crowded nature of life and love for speed almost felt like a doomed romance. Even when he got in his car and tried to go fast like he loves to, there were obstacles preventing him from really getting up to speed. It made me long for an open road as much as he did, and there was a legitimate feeling of sadness when his quest for speed was ended.
Enter the last clip of the trailer, where it turns to animation and you see his car alone on the open road. This trailer offers an escape for gamers, away from the crowded city streets into a fast car by yourself, with no one around to stop you. It was beautifully done, and this game is going to be gorgeous.
